They are called the "Nemesis from the North." That would be the Gillette Camels football team. Last night in Gillette two undefeated teams in class 4A football, the NCHS Mustangs and the Gillette Camels, matched up on Gillette's home field. But the Mustangs proved all night that they are truly the number one team in the state routing the Camels. The Mustangs (4-0) took advantage of a number of early mistakes by Gillette (3-1) and put together their best game of the season with a solid offensive performance on the way to a 47-7 win on the road. The Mustang's scored first, quick and often all night. ""We were fortunate to get off to a fast start," Natrona coach Steve Harshman said. "A lot of things went well for us early." The Mustangs, on the back of great defense for the entire game, put the game out of reach for good on its first drive of the fourth quarter as Jeffrey Wen's 1-yard touchdown run put the Mustangs back up by 33 and Josh Harshman's second touchdown of the night completed the scoring. The Mustang's coach didn't gloat and kept things in perspective when he said ""This is one game in a season, we’re happy but we’re not complacent. We can play much better." Natrona hosts Evanston on Friday.

The Kelly Walsh Trojans have set the stage for an incredible Oil Bowl winning thier second in a row. The Trojans defeated Cheyenne South 34-25 on Friday at Harry Geldien Stadium thanks to the strong play of quarterback Marcus Nolan and a ton of penalties committed by Cheyenne. And though the game went back and forth in the second half it was the Trojans strong first half performance that made the difference scoring 21 unanswered first half points. "It definitely went back and forth. It was a crazy second half," Kelly Walsh head coach Jon Vance said. "The kids did a nice job to finish."
