But it’s also important to keep Zebra and Quagga Muscles out of our lakes and rivers.

Winterizing your boat is never as much fun as launching your boat. But as this last weekend of summer sees many pulling their craft out of the water, it’s important to think ahead and work to make it less expensive, more fun and easier next spring when you launch again.

But it’s also important to keep Zebra & Quagga Muscles out of our lakes and rivers. Wyoming Game & Fish are especially concerned about boats coming in from out of state because these invasive species remove a lot food & nutrients from water and can clog pipes and screens causing problems at water treatment facilities, power plants and even on your boat.

Boats brought into Wyoming need inspections. Drain, clean & dry your boat before putting it away. A few minutes of work now can keep our waters free of these invasive that originated in Ukraine and Russia.

Boaters will be unable to register their boat in Wyoming during October. The Wyoming Game and Fish Department will be closing out the 2014 watercraft registration season and preparing for the 2015 season.
