The Very First Chevy Corvette Hit The Road 60 Years Ago Today

Growing up I can remember walking to school one day and, coming around a corner, and there it stood. In all it's splendor, speed and glory. A Chevrolet Corvette. My favorite was the split T window corvette. It's been a hallmark of speed and I guess affluence today. Because the corvette's of today cost what a house did when they first hit the streets which is what they did today.
