Taking a page from my fellow co-worker & deeJay Tee-Roy, I figured it was time to get back on my grind, and to be more specific... get back on my New Year's resolutions. He choose to quit smoking. I choose to get my 22 year-old body back... only better!!!

If you know me at all, you know I don't sleep much. I stay up writing music, watching movies and/or playing video games. Well, occasionally I'll be trolling around on the internet and just leave the television on for some background noise. One night (after a Nuggets game), I happened upon an infomercial. Now a good one will get my attention and the one for the Beachbody Insanity workout did just that.

After I watched the full hour commercial at 2am, I decided I would give the workout a try. It was very similar to the Marine Corps workouts we had to do (multiple times a day) in boot camp and didn't require all the extra weights and paraphernalia I'd seen in other workout videos. I figured even at age 30, I could still do it once a day for an hour in the comfort of my own home. Plus, and this was the best part, it only takes 60 days to complete. Nothing to lose but unwanted poundage.

*editors note: I wouldn't say I'm over weight, or unhealthy at all, but everyone wants that cut-up, made-for-TV body that drives the ladies crazy as soon as the shirt comes off. See also: Channing Tatum.*

Now let's get one thing out of the way from the jump... it's not easy! But nothing ever is that's worth its weight in gold. I've started the program before and noticed results, even though I've never made it past the halfway mark.

With that being said, today marks my new beginning for my 60-day workout plan with Insanity. Stay along for the ride... I expect it to be bumpy.
