A man accused of evading Casper police officers in a 2013 Ford Explorer registered to former city councilman Craig Hedquist and his daughter turned himself in Thursday afternoon after a brief chase through a neighborhood.

Lennace Louis Miller, 27, was booked on an interference charge around 1 p.m. Thursday. Miller is married to Hedquist's daughter, Aryn, according to her brother Samson Hedquist.

Samson Hedquist says the SUV belongs to Aryn.

Court documents say Miller was under investigation in relation to ongoing, but unspecified, criminal activity.

Detectives reportedly saw Miller get into the driver's seat of the Explorer in a driveway at the intersection of 12th and Wolcott at around 11 a.m.

They followed Miller as he backed out onto 12th Street, went west and turned onto Wolcott. He then reportedly turned east on 13th Street and then south onto McKinley Street.

MIller allegedly passed a speed sentry on 13th Street which registered his speed at 37 mph. Miller then reportedly failed to use a turn signal as he turned south onto McKinley.

Police stopped Miller at about 18th and Washington. Marked police cars and detectives were present during the traffic stop.

An officer used his loudspeaker to order Miller to drop his keys out the window.

Miller's allegedly accelerated rapidly and took off eastbound on 18th.

An officer followed Miller, but was called off due to public safety concerns.

Court documents say Miller turned himself in at the Casper Police Department around 1 p.m.

According to police incident reports, a search warrant regarding missing firearms was executed at about 11:15 a.m. near 12th and Wolcott, where Miller reportedly lives.
