If you've ever ordered a cheese pizza (basically, a pizza that's just cheese and sauce on pizza crust) then you might be a native of these parts of the United States as I've found that there are parts of the country where it's not only not called cheese pizza, but they may be offended you would call it such a thing.

From what I've gathered, you just order a plain pie. That's it. The cheese is assumed as all (most) pizza already has cheese so it's redundant. According to my friend Tom:

Cheese pizza is redundant like "potato french fries."

So there you have it. If you wanna be fancy and proper, try ordering a plain pie and see what happens.
