Yellowstone National Park officials say recent seismic activity in and around the park has prompted a lot of inquiries from visitors and reporters alike. Yellowstone National Park geologist Jefferson Hungerford answered questions during a Facebook Live session Friday morning at Mammoth Hot Springs.

Hungerford says it's normal to have a number of earthquake "swarms" every year in Yellowstone region, and that it's not cause for worry. He says part of the beauty and wonder of the park is because it's an active area, and explains how the park monitors seismic activity, and addresses concerns about the caldera and the possibility of being overdue for a large volcanic eruption.
