The East Entrance to Yellowstone National Park is open as of today, Friday, May 1st, with the South Gate opening next Friday, May 8th. The North Entrance is open year round. The road east of Cooke City opened Tuesday due to lighter than usual snowfall.

They hope to open US-212 over the Beartooth Pass for Memorial Day weekend, 3 weeks from today.

While they are not yet fully staffed, you can plan your visit online.

Know that Yellowstone weather can switch from sun to snow at any time so be prepared and informed. Also, spring means bears coming out of hibernation and they have an appetite and when with cubs, very protective. Don’t end up on their menu.
