From The National Weather Service: Winter Storm Warnings for heavy snow have been issued for the Snowy, Sierra Madre, South Laramie Ranges, South Laramie Range Foothills and North Snowy Range Foothills through Saturday afternoon. Winter Weather Advisories for snow have been issued for areas surrounding the warnings and extended east across the Southeast Wyoming plains and much of the Western Nebraska Panhandle through Saturday evening(See the attached graphic).

Highlights:

* Timing: Snow will begin Friday morning over the Snowy, Sierra Madre and Laramie Range Mountains and nearby valleys. Snow will spread to the Southern Laramie Range and eastern foothills this afternoon, and eastern plains this evening through Saturday morning. The snow will continue through Saturday evening.

* Snow Accumulations: See the attached graphic for the latest forecast on snow accumulations through Saturday evening. Confidence is increasing that snow accumulations will hinder travel along Interstate 80 from east of Rawlins, WY to Sidney, NE and Interstate 25 from Wheatland, WY to the Colorado border. Remember, these snow totals will be adjusted as the event draws closer.

* Winds: West to northwest winds will gust up to 35 mph along and west of the Laramie Range this morning, then will weaken and shift to the north-northeast this afternoon. Winds will then remain 10 to 25 mph Tonight and Saturday. Blowing snow is likely in spots, but are not expected to be widespread. Still, hazardous travel conditions are expected Today through Saturday due to reduced visibility and slick/snow packed roadways.
