How Bout Them Cowboys!!! The University of Wyoming Cowboys Basketball Team overwhelmed the University of Colorado Buffaloes tonight 56-33. Defense was the name of the game. The Cowboys defense held Colorado to just 9....Nine points in the whole second half. This was a team that was averaging 66 points per game. Junior guard Josh Adams posted 14 points, including the first eight of the second half, and the University of Wyoming men's basketball team used another historic defensive effort to down Colorado, 56-33, on Saturday afternoon in the Arena-Auditorium. A crowd of 9,066 raucous fans saw the Pokes (3-0) turn a two-point halftime lead into a blowout, as the Buffs (2-1) managed just nine points and two field goals in the second half. CU's 33 points were the fewest for a UW opponent since 29 by Air Force on Feb. 20, 1982, the first game in the AA. That's what you call defense in the NCAA. "I can't say enough about our guys," Shyatt said. "At halftime we talked about defense, rhythm and being physical. We really didn't make a whole lot of offensive adjustments, except we knew they would go to some trapping at some point so spacing was important. A lot of things went right, but the most impressive thing was a defensive efficiency rating of 0.3. That means every time they touched the ball they made 0.3 points." Watch out Cowboy fans. This is beginning to look like something.....well....big. The Pokes host Florida A&M on Monday at 7 p.m. MT in the Arena-Auditorium. http://www.gowyo.com/sports/m-baskbl/recaps/112214aaa.html
