Wyoming Brewers Gear Up for the Great American Beer Festival

Next month, hundreds of breweries from across the world will gather in Denver for the "Super Bowl of Craft Beer", the 35th Annual Great American Beer Festival.

Once again this year, brewers and beer lovers from across Wyoming will be representing the Cowboy State proudly.

Last year, Jackson's Melvin Brewing won the award for Small Brewpub of the Year.

They'll also be defending their Gold Medal in the American-Style Fruit Beer category, which they won for their Chchchch-Cherry Bomb, and hoping to improve on the Bronze Medal they won in the Fresh or Wet Hop Ale category for their Melvin IPA.

Melvin isn't the only Wyoming brewery who struck gold at the GABF last year.

Lander Brewing Company returns to defend their Gold Medal in the Chili Beer category, which they won for Fire Tiger.

At least 11 Wyoming-based breweries are expected to compete at this year's festival, which runs from October 6th through 8th at the Colorado Convention Center.

In addition to Melvin Brewing and the Lander Brewing Company, Laramie's Altitude Brewery, Sheridan's Black Tooth Brewing Company, Buffalo's Clear Creek Brewing, Laramie's Coal Creek Brewing, Gillette Brewing, Wilson' Roadhouse Brewing Company, Jackson's Snake River Brewing, Saratoga's Snowy Mountain Brewery and Pinedale's Wind River Brewing will be among the Cowboy State's contigent.
