CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Another state park in southeast Wyoming is threatened by a wildfire.

Campers and visitors on the east side of Glendo State Park were evacuated Sunday night because of a wildfire burning on the nearby Wyoming National Guard training grounds. They were moved to the west side of the park and its reservoir.

The Sawmill Canyon fire began on Saturday. Officials say it has burned an estimated 12 square miles.

Firefighters aided by helicopters and heavy air tankers are battling the fire.

Earlier this summer, a fire forced the closure of Guernsey State Park, which is just south of the Glendo park.

Elsewhere in Wyoming, firefighters continue to monitor and mop up wildfires burning in the Medicine Bow and Bridger-Teton national forests.
