The University of Wyoming's Arena Auditorium is a tough place to play for a lot of visiting basketball teams.  Not only because of the rowdy loud cowboy fans, but also because of the high elevation!

But when it comes to comparing college basketball cities, Laramie is better than most in the USA!

WalletHub crunched the numbers on more than 280 college basketball towns using 9 different metrics - including number of teams per city and wining percentage of the hometown teams and several others.

The top ten college basketball cities are probably no surprise to fans of the sport:

  1. Chapel Hill, NC
  2. Lawrence, KS
  3. Los Angeles, CA
  4. Durham, NC
  5. Lexington, KY
  6. Philadelphia, AP
  7. Storrs, CT
  8. Bloomington, IN
  9. East Lansing, MI
  10. College Park, MD

Out of the 280 college baskeball cities, Laramie came in ranked just outside of the top 100 at 124th.  Better than most and just behind a few Mountain West competitors.
