Former Wyoming offensive lineman Chase Roullier will get a shot at the pro level, as he was drafted by the Washington Redskins Saturday.

Roullier went in the sixth round, 199th overall (15th in round) after Washington traded up with the Minnesota Vikings to take him. He joins former teammate Brian Hill, who went in the fifth round to the Atlanta Falcons. It’s the first time since 2014 that two form Cowboys were selected in the NFL Draft. That was Marqueston Huff (Tennessee, fourth) and Robert Herron (Tampa Bay, sixth).

Roullier becomes the first Wyoming offensive lineman taken in the draft since Steve Scifres was a third round choice by Dallas in 1997.

Roullier was named Second Team All-American by USA Today Sports and voted First Team All-Mountain West by conference head coaches and media. He was also a four-time Academic All-MW selection. Roullier started 40 of 46 games in his career and was a team captain his junior and senior seasons. He played in the East-West Shrine Game back in January and went to the 2017 NFL Combine in February.

The Savage, Minn. native was a semifinalist for the 2016 NFF and College Football Hall of Fame’s William V. Campbell Trophy. He was part of the NFF’s 2017 Hampshire Honor Society.
