Music history shows us that numerous, famous rock groups, for what ever reasons in the past broke up and decided to call it quits. Now there are more and more bands from the classic era of rock and roll that are learning to bury the hatchets, make amends, let by gone's be by gone's, even rekindle the fire that brought them together in the first place, have decided to reunite, record and tour again. With those rekindled artistic fires there are numerous reasons that some bands have decided to not include original members in the reunification. Legal issues, artistic issues, substance abuse issues even ego issues are a few of the reasons that the original line ups have changed. I would never have guessed however that with the coming back together of one of the most famous rock bands in history, that being Black Sabbath, the band chose not to include their drummer in the band for the reunion because, well, he's "to fat."

When Black Sabbath pulled off their first new recording and tour in over 20 years recently, the band decided that they would not include drummer Bill Ward in the reunion. Because he was overweight. And because of the weight problem he didn't make the cut so to speak. "Osbourne tells the New York Daily News of Ward: “I don’t think he could have done the gig, to be honest. He’s incredibly overweight."A drummer has to be in shape. He’s already had two heart attacks – I don’t want to be responsible for his life.” http://www.classicrockmagazine.com/news/black-sabbath-bill-ward-too-overweight-says-ozzy/.

And as crazy as Ozzie has been over the years one would think it might be a mental health issue. But a weight issue? And the new CD hit the charts at number one. Guess the band's treadmill was working overtime.
