Thunderbirds Back In Cheyenne [VIDEO]

When you’re the best of the best, you get the cool jobs. Meet one of those guys, Captain Nick Eberling, pilot for The United States Air Force Thunderbird Air Demonstration Squadron.  He and seven other pilots landed at the Wyoming Air National Guard field on Monday in preparation for Wednesday’s performance when they will be showing everyone looking up just what these amazing jets can do, when you’ve got pros in control.

You would think you couldn’t miss them, but by the time you hear them, and YOU CAN HEAR THEM, they are already past you, performing most of their maneuvers at just under the speed of sound, 500–700 mph.

Wednesday morning, July 22 at 9:30, with the words “Thunderbirds, let’s run em up!” the pilots and their F-16C Fighting Falcons take to the air, and the show is on over Laramie County Community College. To make sure you can get in before any possible road closures, arrive before 9:00 a.m.. Might be a great idea to use the shuttles.

The Thunderbirds performances during the Cheyenne Air Show this week are “dedicated to U.S. Army National Guard Chief Warrant Officer 3 Andrew McAdams. of Cheyenne, Wyo. He died during operations in Afghanistan on Jan 10, 2014. Your sacrifice certainly does not go unnoticed.”

The Thunderbird Air Show begins at 9:30 a.m., but all access roads will be closed from 9-10:30 a.m.  Please plan your arrival accordingly!

I talked with Captain Eberling and want to share that video with you HERE.
