CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Private contributions to the University of Wyoming dropped for the second year in a row to about $46 million.

The amount is $10 million lower from the record $56 million collected two years ago.

However, UW Foundation CEO Ben Blalock says he's not concerned by the decrease. He expects donations to rebound to around $50 million this fiscal year, beginning with an announcement of a new contribution on Friday.

The state's only public four-year university received donations from nearly 23,000 people, corporations and foundations in the 2015 fiscal year that ended June 30.

During the 2014 calendar year, donations to the UW Cowboy Joe Club athletic fund, which supports student-athletes, totaled about $3.1 million. That is up from $2.75 million in 2013.
