Wyoming loves UFOs, and now one is reported in Hot Springs County, this UFO had feathers and a beak.  Cryptozoologynews.com calls it an unidentified giant bird.  We’ll just call it “The Thermopolis Thunderbird.”

A nameless 35-year-old nurse said she was driving north on Buffalo Creek Road toward Thermopolis when she saw it.  “I observed a huge raptor lift off the road, and was struck by its size. It soared up approximately 40 meters where it glided to a perch across the gorge. It stayed ."

She later added, “I observed a huge raptor lift off the road, and was struck by its size. It soared up approximately 40 meters where it glided to a perch across the gorge. It stayed there broadside to me about 300 meters away. I was able to glass it with binoculars before it flew over the ridge.”

The woman says she's sure this was the “largest flying bird” she had ever seen, other than zoo Condors.

“There were a group of three Harris hawks I had noted in the same area the day before. Those are not small birds, but they appeared tiny by comparison. I was perplexed, not able to identify it as a golden eagle with any certainty."

Could this be a relic from Wyoming's large bird folklore?
