The Rolling Stones Resume World Tour
Reuters reports that the band took the stage in front of a sold-out crowd of more than 20,000, delivering a set that the NME clocked at "over two hours." Telling the audience that he was happy to be back in Oslo, Jagger joked that the winning song in an online poll for fan requests had been the Norwegian pop band a-ha's 1985 hit 'Take On Me' -- but since the vocals were "too high" for him, the band played 'Let's Spend the Night Together' instead.
As previously reported, the Stones put their tour in hiatus in March, indefinitely postponing a series of shows scheduled for Australia and New Zealand. Those dates will now take place in October and November; meanwhile, the band is set to close out its May dates with a stop in Portugal before beginning a run of European summer concerts that includes visits to Switzerland, Israel, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy, and Spain.
