Rob Grill, lead singer of The Grass Roots for more than 40 years, passed away Monday, July 11 at an Orlando, Florida hospice.    Rob had reportedly been in poor health for some time, and was comatose since falling a few weeks ago.    He was the voice that propelled The Grass Roots to 14 top 40 hits in the late 60's and early 70's - including top 10 hits like "Let's Live For Today", "Midnight Confessions", and "Sooner Or Later".

Grass Roots bassist Mark Dawson announced Grill's death while onstage in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania earlier this week, saying, "We may have lost one great friend, but heaven gained an exceptional singer.  We say God bless you, and Rob says the show must go on."  The group has been continuing to tour despite Rob's absence, as part of "The Happy Together Tour", featuring 60's counterparts The Turtles, The Association, The Buckinghams, and Mark Lindsay of Paul Revere & The Raiders.
