It was a Wednesday night in Casper USA. The hottest ticket around was The Eagles at the Casper Events Center.

Many like me had waited a long time for this opportunity. Many others got to see the show. I didn't.

It seemed from the moment the band hit the stage, it was an instant love affair from fans to band and vice versa.

"I've been waiting and waiting for about 32 years to say 'Hello Wyoming,'" shouted guitarist/keyboardist/vocalist Glenn Frey between the supergroup's first song, "The Long Run" and the second "New Kid in Town."

Christina Peterson remembers that night as she spoke with The Casper Star Tribune:

"I've been an Eagles fan since I was nine," said 21-year-old Christina Peterson, who was all smiles during the band's set break. "The sound is great" even in the nose-bleed seats where she was sitting, Peterson said.

I probably would've had the same reaction to seeing a band that I too have loved for many years. If only I had been able to go.

I'm happy for all my friends who got to see Glenn Frey say 'hello' to Wyoming on that Wednesday night.

My Wednesday night will never come after today. Rest in Peace Glenn Frey.
