The Appliance From The 1940′s Is A Home Microwave

This appliance above is a 1940′s version of a home microwave.  A scary microwave I might add.

This was obviously years before the launch of the mainstream microwave we all know and use today(pictured left).  Notice the open-air configuration.  I would not stand anywhere near that thing!  I am extremely thankful for the advances in technology that have led to a safer, less life threatening model for my kitchen.  Not to mention the fact that this microwave would not fit in my kitchen at all.  You have got to start somewhere I guess.  I hope nobody was injured or got ill from testing this giant gadget out for years.
