Friday, April 25th will bring the 59th Annual Ropin' & Riggin' Days Rodeo to the Central Wyoming Fairgrounds. The event hosted by the Casper College Rodeo team will run through Sunday, the 27th, with teams from all over the region competing.

The Casper College rodeo team competes in the Central Rocky Mountain Region, which includes teams from Colorado, Nebraska, and Wyoming. Teams set to compete include teams from Sheridan College, Gillette College, Laramie County Community College, Central Wyoming College, Eastern Wyoming College, the University of Wyoming, Colorado State University, Lamar Community College, Otero Junior College, United States Air Force Academy, Mesa State College, Northeastern Junior College, and Chadron State College.

This year will feature some changes in the way points are awarded for the CNFR.

The top two men's and women's teams will still represent the Central Rocky Mountain Region at the CNFR. Along with those two full teams, the top three individuals in every event will qualify as well (it used to be the top two).
Additionally, more points will be awarded this season. Instead of awarding points for the top four places, college rodeo is awarding points for placing in the top six (60-50-40-30-20-10).
That means a contestant can potentially earn 60 points in the long go around, 60 points in the short go and 60 in the average, or 180 points total in a rodeo like Ropin' & Riggin' Days.

The 59th Annual Ropin' & Riggin' Days will be an exciting family friendly event and is priced to accommodate most budgets.

The rodeo will feature three performances: Friday and Saturday evening at 7, with the final performance starting at noon on Sunday. Tickets are $7 for adults, $4 for students, and $17 to see all three rodeos. Tickets can be purchased at The Arena box office the day of performance.
