A fan has paid more than a grand for a robe that bassist John Paul Jones would have worn on Led Zeppelin's ill-fated 1980 U.S. tour. Drummer John Bonham's death on Sept. 25 that year scuttled the shows and ultimately ended the band.

Titles released on reel-to-reel have long been a prize of sorts for collectors -- especially since even in their heyday, they never sold all that well. The format was first introduced in 1949, and had pretty much died out by the early '70s.
