Which is better: Marvel or DC? It's an age old question which has been argued with comic book readers, fanboys and nerds for the better part of 50 years. But since the reemergence of the superhero film genre (and social media), the argument has gotten even more intense.

When Warner Bros. announced their upcoming superhero schedule last year, one title notably missing was a solo Batman movie. Sure, Batman was going to be a big part of both Batman vs. Superman and the two Justice League movies, but would Batfleck be getting his own trilogy, a la The Dark Knight? It turns out, yes, yes he will. Latino Review is reporting that Ben Affleck will both star in and direct the spinoff, titled The Batman, which is set for November 2018.

As 'Batman vs. Superman' very clearly teases the upcoming 'Justice League' crossover (the subtitle is 'Dawn of Justice' after all), we all sort of assumed that The Rock's long-teased 'Shazam!' movie would fit into that blueprint somehow. Even The Rock himself tweeted the art above of his character, Black Adam, fighting both Shazam and Superman. But, now it seems that 'Shazam!' will be operating independently from the rest of the other DC superheroes at Warner Bros.

'Man of Steel' will feature a post-credits scene cameo from Joseph Gordon-Levitt who will introduce himself as the new Batman! That was the sexy rumor from late-2012 and the explanation for how Warner Bros. would kickstart the 'Justice League' buzz. Unfortunately it's not true.

The 'Justice League' movie is in the deep planning stages at Warner Bros. with a 2015 release date tentatively planned. The film will finally team up Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, the Green Lantern, Flash and more but what villain could possible be powerful enough to be a match for some of Earth's mightiest superheroes? 'Justice League' is coming out in 2015, which is already going to be one of the biggest summers for event films (between it, 'The Avengers 2' and 'Star Wars Episode 7'), but other than Henry Cavill rumored to appear as Superman none of the other cast has been fleshed out. The latest hot rumor is that Joseph Gordon-Levitt will play Batman, the Dark Knight himself.
