When the Fox Network launched 25 years ago, the “fourth network” was known more for its second run movies than its original programming. ‘The Simpsons,’ which is in its 23rd season, was one of the station’s first breakout hits and helped to make it the prime time powerhouse that it is today.
In the upcoming movie ‘Neighborhood Watch,’ Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill play inept badge-less crime fighters who patrol the streets of their posh suburban town. Then things get interesting when the neighborhood gets invaded by aliens of the extraterrestrial kind.
The movie, which is scheduled for July 27th release, is being directed by The Lonely Island’s Akiva Schaffer, and the story is from the screenwriting team of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. Madcap fun, right?
To try to gain a little early traction, Fox and the CW are streaming free full-length pilot episodes of a few freshman shows ahead of premiere week.
'America's Most Wanted' is officially no longer wanted on Fox, as the network announced Monday that it is canceling the long-running program after 23 years on the air.
The reason: The show was no longer profitable, according to Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly.
"It's been an important show for us historically," he said. "We haven't made money on the show in quite a while. It wasn't particularly viable. We wanted to keep the franchise alive. John is having conversations about ways to keep the series alive."
American Idol will begin a new season with plenty of new faces and new days. Fox is moving American Idol from it's standard Tuesday/Wednesday airings to Wednesday/Thursday for the new year which is set to kickoff on January 19th and 20th
