A parents' group in Russia is protesting Elton John's upcoming concerts there. The committee has asked President Vladimir Putin to cancel the shows because of the singer's homosexuality.

What's left for Elton John to prove? The guy is a knight of the round table. He's sold approximately six gajillion records. He's got a live residency in Las Vegas. Hell, he's even paid tribute to Liberace on the Emmys!

Hollywood's best and brightest gathered in Los Angeles last night (Sept. 21) to celebrate the year's finest achievements in television at the 2013 Emmy Awards -- and there was even a little room for some classic rock during the top-rated ceremony too.

Roger Pope was one of Elton John's early bandmates, playing drums on the piano man's early demos and later going on to tour and recording six albums with him. The Whitestable, U.K., native died on Sept. 17 at the age of 66.

Russia's recent spate of anti-gay legislation has provoked a boycott among a growing number of celebrities and entertainers, but Elton John won't be adding his name to the list.

Elton John recently had an appendectomy that forced him to postpone much of his summer tour. But since his new album 'The Diving Board' will be released later this month, the legendary singer-songwriter didn't want to go totally silent. Having an appendectomy performed is something of a minor medical rite of passage for many people, but for Elton John, having his appendix removed also seems to have been a cause for major re-evaluation.

It's been a long time coming, but Elton John's new album, 'The Diving Board,' is almost here. To ease the wait until the record's Sept. 24 due date, John has just released a video for its second single, 'Mexican Vacation (Kids in the Candlelight).'

A typically extravagant pair of boots owned by Elton John are being auctioned to raise money for Amnesty International.
