Admittedly, I’m not much of an animal lover. I love my dog, my sister’s dog, and my girlfriend’s mother (Huzzah!). Other than that, animals don’t really do anything for me. That being said, when I came across the petting zoo at the Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo, I was like a little kid.
The Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo is back and if opening weekend is any indication, it’s bigger, badder, and better than ever! With numerous rides, games, displays, prizes and choices of food, the CWFR continues to prove why it is the destination hot spot for Casper in July. People of all ages came out to the CWFR on opening weekend, as these pictures can attest to. And one thing can be certain- fun was had by all.
As a kid in Casper Wyoming, our summers revolved around two things- the pool and the Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo. So imagine my delight when, one summer when I was 13 years old, I was able to combine the two with my other favorite thing ever- a girl. This is the story of that day.
As a kid growing up, the thing I looked forward to most in the summer's was the Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo. When I was little, there was nothing cooler than being able to hang out with my friends and family, eat a lot of junk food, and then throw it up after riding the Gravitron 5 times in a row. It was great! Because this was my favorite thing in the world, I spent a lot of time at the CWFR over the years, and made lots of memories there. This is my first.
If you've ever wanted to feel the wind in your hair and the sun at your back as you follow the highways and byways on an amazing piece of machinery, but are like me and are terrified of motorcycles (and angry Persian women throwing knives), then have we got a deal for you! Because of Driven Powersports, we are proudly giving you a chance to win a Can-Am Spyder Roadster as part of our Visible Vault Promotion.
The Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo will take place this year on July 6-14.
So let's face it, anybody who's anybody has spent an inordinate amount of time and money at the 2011 Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo. I mean, why wouldn't they? It's basically the coolest part of the summer.
Have you been to the fair yet? If not, you do NOT know what you're missing. The food, the rides, the games, the people watching (Ohhhhhh, the people watching)- it all makes for one of the most exciting weeks of the Casper year.
The highlight of Summer for many citizens of Casper is Parade Day. Parade Day is an excuse to get off of work, get outside, spend some quality time with one's family and let the kids eat as much candy as they can get their hands on.
From the library to local TV, convertibles to calliopes and everything in between - the annual parade in downtown Casper is always a highlight of the Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo each summer and after looking at the photos, it isn't any surprise why.
How do you know when Summer has begun? Is it the heat? Is it when baseball season starts heating up? Is it when your Grandmother makes her famous bowl of potato salad? Well, in Casper, one surefire way to know that Summer is here is when the Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo comes to town!
