It’s remained an open question at CBS whether the current tenth season of The Big Bang Theory might prove the last, rounding out contracts of its leads, and potentially launching a spinoff. No longer, it seems as a two-season renewal is likely imminent with fresh pay raises for the core cast.
The unveiling of Klingons in Star Trek Into Darkness gave further indication of how modern Trek might expand upon classic alien designs, so might CBS’ upcoming Star Trek: Discovery do the same? An apparent leak from the set purports to show Klingons looking very different than we’re used to, potentially shaking up continuity in the process.
Apart from the excitement of a new TV Star Trek series on the horizon, Trekkies had to wonder how CBS might structure the new All-Access series after its network premiere. Rest assured, CBS intends to keep to the weekly model over Netflix’s binge drop, while network brass hopes to debut even more new All-Access series in the years to come.
A ways back, we’d heard that the ever-clever MacGyver had reinvented himself with a new CBS series under Furious 7 helmer James Wan, returning to that faithful well of a young origin story. We’re closer than ever to Stephen Colbert’s Late Show debut on September 8, and while George Clooney’s guest appearance gave a marquee head start, the full guest list for Colbert’s full week offers a much clearer view of the new series. Everyone from Jeb Bush to Elon Musk and Amy Schumer will fill out the ranks, with musical guests on deck as well.
We’re still feeling out a world post-Late Show With David Letterman, but Stephen Colbert is already gearing up and shaving down for his big debut. The former Colbert Report host finally ditches his Colbeard in prep for the September debut, and you may never look at hot dogs the same way again.

The footage comes from a 2010 episode of the CBS series The Amazing Race...
