UPDATE:

According to Sheriff's officials, the SRT action this morning was the result of a break-in last night.

The Special Response Team was activated after deputies responded to the 4000 block of Bel Vista Drive at 10:24 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a prowler.

When they arrived, deputies learned that a man had forced his way into a home and assaulted a 71-year-old man and a 70-year-old woman.

The suspect is described as a white male in his younger to middle thirties, about 6'5" and heavy set. He was believed to have been accompanied by a younger white woman who is also described as heavy set.

Officers used a loudspeaker to communicate with the suspects, asking them to come out peacefully.

The special response team evidently broke out windows and deployed tear gas inside the home, which still was not enough to get the suspects to surrender.

A robot was deployed at about 8:30 a.m. Then, at 8:45 a.m., what sounded like four gunshots could be heard.

The suspects were arrested shortly after 9 a.m.

The two injured residents were taken to a hospital.

Natrona County Sheriff's deputies continue to investigate. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Natrona County Sheriff's Office at 307-235-9282.

Bar Nunn Elementary was placed in lockout this morning due to the incident. The lockout has been lifted.
