There will be plenty of heat to go around today and into the weekend.  Morning and early afternoon sun will lead to temperatures in the upper 70s in the northwest to 90s on the eastern plains.

There will be a handful of isolated thunderstorms in the state later today and this evening.  Many of these storms will produce more lightning and gusty winds than measurable precipitation.  This is of a concern due to the continued dry conditions in many portions of the state.  A Red Flag Warning is in effect from portions of central Wyoming through 10 p.m.

The ridge of high pressure will stay overhead for the weekend, so temperatures will stay toasty.  However, the good news is that more moisture will be moving into the state which will make for better chances of showers and thunderstorms on both Saturday and Sunday.
