WYDOT has announced the next batch of road projects in and around the Casper area. Here is the release...

List of Casper-area road construction projects:

Schedules for projects are preliminary and these projects are weather-dependent. As work schedules change or are updated, that information will be passed along.

All of these projects will impact traffc flow within the construction zone. Delays are likely. Access to any business within the construction area will remain open.

Interstate 25 – Casper I-25 North Project: This will be a pavement reconstruction/guardrail job with some bridge rehabilitation on I-25 between mileposts 188.89 – 192.22 (roughly just north of Poplar Street to just north of the Wardwell Road interchange). This work will affect the southbound lanes only plus the Shoshoni Bypass underneath the I-25 overpass.

Effective March 26, oversize loads will be limited to 22 feet wide in the northbound lane and 16 feet wide in the southbound lane on I-25 from milepost 188.8 to 192.3.

West Belt Loop – Work to pave the new highway is set to begin mid to late March. This work will also include the reconstruction of the Shoshoni Bypass/West Belt Loop/U.S. 20/26 junction. When completed, the intersection will resemble other intersections in town, such as Yellowstone/Wyoming Boulevard in Mills. Work at the intersection is set to begin by April.

Wyoming Boulevard – (City of Casper): A pedestrian/bicycle underpass will be installed on Wyoming Boulevard just north of the 13th Street intersection at Fort Caspar. The installation of the pre-cast underpass is expected to take 35 days and will reduce traffic on Wyoming Boulevard in the area to one lane either direction. Traffic control devices will be set up on Wyoming Boulevard and 13th Street beginning Monday, March 30.

The west lanes of Wyoming Boulevard will close first, beginning April 27. Traffic is scheduled to switch to the east lanes May 16. The project is scheduled to be finished (as far as Wyoming Boulevard traffic is concerned) on June 1.

Pedestrians using the Platte River Trail in the Fort Casper area are advised access to the trail will be restricted during the construction.

Robertson Road - Beginning Monday, March 23, a portion of Robertson Road will be reduced to one lane of traffic as work in the area picks up for the summer. The areas affected include Squash Blossom Road and Chief Washakie, which will be closed.

Those residents will use Little Moon Trail, which will remain open. Portable message signs will be installed today letting motorists know of the upcoming lane closure near River's Gate south.

Salt Creek Highway - The traffic control won't change much until summer, but expect increased work on the bridge area, plus road surfacing and other reconstruction work from around English Avenue to north of the Port of Entry.

Please respect private property by not driving around this or any construction zone.
