An ongoing security evaluation has prompted Casper city officials to change the entrance designations at City Hall. Effective immediately, the south entrance will be transitioned into an entrance for City employees and Casper City Council only. Members of the public who have business at the City Hall can use the east or west side doors.

Assistant City Manager/Support Services Director Tracey Belser says no specific incident prompted the change. Rather, it was a recommendation by the City of Casper Leadership Team, which has been evaluating security measures over the course of the past two years. The decision was made, according to a press release "to eliminate a point of entry into the building that creates a safety and security vulnerability for the building." City Management then approved the recommendation.

The City Of Casper Leadership Team is a group of city employees who are chosen, by application, to study and evaluate various issues.
