Samuel L. Jackson has been the anchor for Marvel's movies ever since he appeared in the end credit Easter Egg in the first 'Iron Man.' But now that the universe is established, now that 'The Avengers' is one of the biggest hits of all time, will Jackson continue his trend of showing up for a scene or two in the next couple Marvel movies? It looks like the answer is no.

Jackson talked to Total Film (though we got the news from Collider), and said that he wouldn't be appearing in either 'Iron Man 3' and that he thinks his next appearance will be in 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier,' which would mean he'd skip 'Thor: The Dark World.' Or, to quote Jackson directly: “I think my next time as Nick Fury is in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Because I’m not in Iron Man 3. None of the Avengers are in Iron Man 3. It’s a standalone Iron Man movie.”

Though Jackson is saying this now, it's quite possible that could change before May, 2013, when 'Iron Man 3' hits theaters. The end credit Easter eggs of previous Marvel films are sometimes assembled while they're shooting the next film to build up interest in whatever's coming next. In this case that's the next 'Thor' film, which it sounds like Jackson has no part in, but you never know.
