In the wake of Ronnie Montrose's untimely passing, an all-star group of his friends got together to put on a show that celebrated the guitarist's contributions to rock 'n' roll. On Dec. 10, that concert is scheduled to make its home-video debut.

'Concert for Ronnie Montrose - A Celebration of His Life In Music' brings together Ronnie's mates in Montrose (Sammy Hagar, Denny Carmassi and Bill Church featuring Joe Satriani) and Gamma (Davey Pattison, Denny Carmassi and Glenn Letsch with Marc Bonilla) for a career-surveying set of classic cuts he wrote or performed with his bands, as a sideman (such as the Edgar Winter hit 'Frankenstein') or solo.

The DVD also includes testimonials and memories from an impressive array of Montrose's fellow musicians, including Ted Nugent, the members of Kiss, Neal Schon of Journey, Ricky Phillips of Styx, Steve Smith (ex-Journey), former Night Ranger guitarist Jeff Watson, the members of Tesla and Eric Martin of Mr. Big. Finally, the disc adds an extra set of Montrose songs performed in Bob Weir's TRI Studios by a band featuring Dave Meniketti and the members of Y&T.
