The Rolling Stones classic ‘Sympathy for the Devil,’ specifically, the 2003 Neptunes remix, is being featured in promotions for the upcoming UFC Heavyweight Championship bout pitting current heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez — dubbed “The World’s Most Dangerous Man” — against the top contender, Junior dos Santos.

The mixed martial arts showdown, the first to be broadcast on network TV, will take place Nov. 12 in Anaheim, Calif.

This version is one of the tracks featured on the ‘Sympathy’ remix album released by ABKCO records in 2003. That collection included remixes by a bevy of star producers, including The Neptunes, Jellybean Benitez, Fatboy Slim and Full Phatt.

To our ears, this remix includes way too much percussion, with the volume cranked way too high in the mix. Everybody loves those drums, maracas and that legendary conga line that plays throughout the song, but really, a little goes a long way.

But maybe that’s just us. Judge for yourself by listening below — and tune into Fox Nov. 12 for the fight of the year!
