Rod Stewart has lived quite the rock ‘n’ roll life, fronting two revered bands, compiling a long list of solo hits and walking down the aisle more than once (usually with a model).

That said, he has more than enough material to fill an autobiography, and Stewart is in fact working on one that’s due in stores next fall from Crown Archetype, a division of Random House.

“It is a funny old thing telling my life story, but I truly intend to hold nothing back,” the singer said in a statement. “Forget skeletons in the closet; this one’s going to be socks and knickers under the bed.”

The book, currently without a title, isn’t the only thing on Stewart’s to-do list. His Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace (simply titled Rod Stewart: The Hits) began August 24 and will run for two years. Instead of the pop standards that can be found on his recent series of ‘Great American Songbook’ albums, Stewart is performing classics from the prime of his solo career. (Longtime fans probably wouldn’t complain if at some point he threw in some material from his days with the Jeff Beck Group and the Faces, too.)
