UNDATED (AP) — The victims of the Boston Marathon bombings were remembered throughout major league ballparks last night.

The Red Sox and Indians wore black armbands in Cleveland, while several teams played the Fenway Park favorite "Sweet Caroline" during their games. Neil Diamond tweeted his appreciation to the teams for playing his song, which has been a popular sing-along tune at Fenway since 2002.

Boston outfielder Jonny Gomes (gohmz) says his teammates had "heavy hearts" as they got ready to play while their city recovers.

The Red Sox used a seven-run second inning to rip the Indians 7-2. Mike Napoli (NAP'-oh-lee) capped the rally with a three-run double, one day after his walk-off double against Tampa Bay. Felix Doubrant (doo-BRAHNT') gave up two runs while striking out seven in five innings to pick up the win.

Robinson Cano (kuh-NOH') helped the Yankees beat Arizona 4-2, crushing a three-run homer in the fourth to erase the Diamondbacks' 2-0 lead. Ivan Nova picked up his first win of the year by allowing two runs and seven hits while striking out six in five innings.

In other major league action, Atlanta stretched its winning streak to 10 games as Jason Heyward, Justin Upton and Dan Uggla (UG'-lah) hit solo shots in the eighth inning of a 6-3 triumph against Kansas City. Juan Francisco homered twice for the 12-1 Braves, who are off to their best start in 19 years.

Barry Zito suffered his first loss since last August as Milwaukee put together an eight-run third inning to chase the lefty and beat San Francisco 10-8. Yuniesky Betancourt hit a grand slam for the Brewers, who also got homers from Carlos Gomez and Norichika Aoki (nohr-ah-CHEE'-kah ah-OH'-kee).

Derek Holland tossed seven shutout innings and Adrian Beltre smacked a two-run homer as Texas doubled up the Chicago Cubs 4-2. The Cubs scored twice in the bottom of the ninth before Craig Gentry made a diving catch to end it.

Alexei Amarista was 3-for-5 with four RBIs in San Diego's 9-2 pounding of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Yonder Alonso added three hits and two ribbies to back Jason Marquis, who limited the Dodgers to a run and three hits in 7 2/3 innings.

Colorado swept a doubleheader from the Mets. Eric Young had three hits, scored twice and drove in a pair as Colorado rallied from a 4-2 deficit to beat the New York Mets 8-4 in Game 1. Todd Helton's two-run single in the fifth put the Rockies ahead to stay after Mets third baseman David Wright hit his first two homers of the season.

The Rockies took the nightcap 9-8 on Jordan Pacheco's walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th. Carlos Gonzalez went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored to help Colorado storm back from an 8-2 deficit.

Adeiny Hechavarria (ah-DAY'-nee eh-sheh-vah-REE'-uh) launched a three-run blast to end Florida's nine-game homerless drought and lead an 8-2 rout of Washington. Justin Ruggiano had two hits and three RBIs for the Marlins, who scored four earned runs on Ryan Zimmerman's throwing error.

Miguel Cabrera hit a two-run homer and drove in Detroit's first four runs in a 6-2 win at Seattle. Austin Jackson scored twice, giving him 19 runs scored in just 13 games.

Josh Donaldson's RBI triple in the eighth broke a 3-3 tie in Oakland's 4-3 triumph over Houston. Eric Sogard was 3-for-3 with a run scored for the A's.

Jake Arrieta allowed a run and three hits while fanning seven in five-plus innings of Baltimore's 5-4 triumph over Tampa Bay. The Rays lost their fourth in a row despite homers from Desmond Jennings, Kelly Johnson and Evan Longoria.

Joe Mauer had four hits and three RBIs in Minnesota's 8-6 win over the Los Angeles Angels. Brian Dozier added two hits and two RBIs in his first career game batting leadoff for the Twins.

Dayan Viciedo (DY'-ahn vih-see-EH'-doh) doubled home the go-ahead run in the Chicago White Sox' 4-3 comeback win at Toronto. Paul Konerko (kah-NEHR'-koh) hit a game-tying homer and scored three runs as the White Sox won for just the second time in eight games.

Philadelphia's game at Cincinnati was scoreless before play was suspended by heavy rain in the middle of the ninth. The two clubs managed just two singles apiece and will resume the game on Wednesday.

The Pirates were leading the Cardinals 4-2 in the second inning at Pittsburgh when their game was rained out. No makeup date has been announced.

UNDATED (AP) — Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Aaron Hill is expected to miss from four to six weeks because of a broken left hand.

Hill was hit in the hand by a pitch a week ago and tried to play two days ago before leaving in the fourth inning due to soreness. Infielder Didi Gregorius came off the disabled list to take Hill's place.

In other major league player news, Boston has placed closer Joel Hanrahan on the 15-day disabled list with a sore right hamstring.

Indians center fielder Michael Bourn will be placed on the 15-day disabled list in the coming days as he recovers from a cut finger.

The Cubs activated second baseman Darwin Barney from the 15-day disabled list, one of several moves by the team on Tuesday.

And Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Yovani Gallardo (gy-YAR'-doh) was arrested on a drunken-driving charge Tuesday after a breath test revealed a blood-alcohol level of 0.22, almost three times the legal limit.
