Steve Manshel used to travel the United States and the world with the band Firefall, out of Denver, Colorado. When he became a father, he did the right and responsible thing and came off the road to raise his boys and take care of family. So it was no surprise that when Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005, even though he was over 1,000 miles away, he organized a fund raiser in Loveland, Colorado called "Come Hell Or High Water." That's where I met him.

He raised funds for the American Red Cross and it became an annual event with that organization for many years. While he is now getting together a fund raiser to help raise money for the victims of the recent Colorado floods, he can't sit still.

Here's a picture of Steve helping to bring what comfort and joy he can to the flood victims at a relocation center in Fort Collins yesterday.

It's people like Steve who help to make the Rocky Mountain west such a great place to live. Bless you Steve, for all of those that you have blessed. Including my wife and I. (He graced us with song at our wedding.)

If he has a cardiac attack, he would need all of the power from the Hoover Dam to get him started again..... His heart is that big.
