A Kentucky resident was arrested after a 185-mile car chase lasting one hour and 46 minutes along Interstate 80 Monday afternoon, according to a news release from the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

At 12:21 p.m., Wyoming law enforcement received a report of a stolen car traveling east on I-80 near Rock Springs, according to the news release from Patrol Sgt. David Wagener.

Fifteen minutes later, a Sweetwater County deputy sheriff saw the car about 11 miles east of Rock Springs. Back-up law enforcement officers arrived and initiated a traffic stop, but the driver didn't comply and sped off.

The driver, Joshua C. Law, 28, of Morehead, Ky., accelerated up to 130 mph.

The pursuit continued on I-80 into Carbon County.

Law exited and re-entered the highway multiple times, and Stop Stick tire deflating devices were deployed west of Rawlins at mile posts 173, 189 and 201.

Just east of Sinclair, Law drove across a median crossover and began driving east in the westbound lanes of I-80. He exited at the Fort Steele rest area about six miles down the road.

Law briefly drove east on a gravel road, crashed through a right-of-way fence and returned to the highway, this time in the eastbound lanes.

Stop Sticks were deployed again near Walcott Junction, and 20 miles and 13 miles east of Laramie at mile posts 290 and 297 respectively.

By mile post 303, all four tires were flattened.

The pursuit ended about five miles east of Laramie.

Highway Patrol troopers took Law into custody without incident, and booked him into the Albany County Detention Center in Laramie. He was charged with eluding and multiple warrants for identity theft and burglary. Charges in Carbon and Sweetwater counties from the pursuit and vehicle theft are pending.

Highway Patrol troopers from Rock Springs, Rawlins, Elk Mountain, Laramie and Cheyenne joined the chase. Other agencies involved were the sheriff's offices of Sweetwater, Carbon and Albany counties, and the police departments of Rawlins, Sinclair and Laramie.
