Restaurant Causes Uproar By Banning Kids Under Age Six

WTAE

McDain’s Restaurant, in suburban Pittsburgh, isn’t what you would call a kid-friendly establishment.

The eatery has instituted a new policy banning children younger than six beginning this coming Sunday.

McDain’s owner Mike Vuick sent an email to customers, explaining the new rule. He wrote, “We feel that McDain’s is not a place for young children. Their volume can’t be controlled and many, many times, they have disturbed other customers.”

Vuick isn’t backing down, either, adding he will not make any exceptions. He defended his stance by saying it’s his way of fighting back against loud-mouted little ones, noting, “I think it’s the height of being impolite and selfish, and therefore, I instituted a policy. Nothing wrong with babies, but the fact is you can’t control their volume. There may be restaurants that prefer to cater to such things. Not here.”

On the bright side, at least parents looking for a venue to hold their kids’ birthday parties will have one less place to choose from out of all their options.
