Peanut butter really is the perfect food. High in protein, vitamin E, antioxidants - and known for curbing your appetite - peanut butter has been shown to reduce the risk of Alzheimers and coronary heart disease, according to reports like this one in Men's Health.

It's also a great gift to kids who are having a hard time finding meals consistently. Through their weekend back-pack program, the Wyoming Food For Thought Project feeds hundreds of Casper kids each week, and they are the obvious choice to host the peanut butter drive this Saturday. Get all of the info below, and makes sure to stop by Sam's this weekend:

CASPER - The University of Wyoming Round Table Honor Society has chosen Wyoming Food for Thought Project as their hometown fundraising event this year. The Food for Thought Weekend Food Bag Program has a need for PEANUT BUTTER DONATIONS to ensure that the program will be able to meet the growing nutritional needs for the children of Casper this year. Members of the Round Table Honor Society and community volunteers will be at Sam’s Club on Saturday April 26th from 10:00am till 4:00 pm asking our community to help us fill a trailer (our goal) full of cases of peanut butter. We would like small to medium size jars if possible. Of course we will accept any other non-perishable food items as well, but will be concentrating on supplying the Wyoming Food for Thought Project with enough peanut butter to fill bags all through the summer! We will also accept cash donations at the event, or you can drop off donations at any Hilltop Bank location in the name of Food for Thought.
