Next month, World Wrestling Entertainment returns to Wyoming for the first time in nearly a decade.

The WWE Superstars will invade the Casper Events Center on November 1st, which marks the first time WWE has ever been to Casper, and its first visit to Wyoming since Cheyenne hosted a house show back in 2008. It's also the first time a major professional wrestling event has been held in Casper since WCW's Monday Nitro in August of 1996.

While professional wrestling events have been few and far between here in the Cowboy State, Wyoming is home to one of the biggest names in recent wrestling history. Eric Bischoff, former President of World Championship Wrestling and General Manager of WWE Raw, now makes his home in Cody.

Bischoff-Hervey Entertainment, a production company the former professional wrestling executive now runs with Wonder Years television star Jason Harvey, has an office outside of Jackson. In 2011, Bischoff also founded a micro brewery based in Cody, which produces Buffalo Bill Cody Beer.

Bischoff isn't Wyoming's only connection to the squared circle. The tiny town of Lusk is headquarters for Big Sky Wrestling, an independent promotion that stages events throughout the state and across the region.
