Is Ozzy Osbourne going to have a star turn in the upcoming all-female Ghostbusters reboot?

If he is, it will be in a familiar role: as a heavy-metal frontman. The rumor mill is whirring after the film's director, Paul Feig, shot a concert scene at Boston's the Citi Wang Theatre with mock-up posters featuring Osbourne. The Boston Herald also reports that crew members outside the venue mentioned the Black Sabbath frontman. Posters around the Citi Wang Theatre, which was renamed Stonebrook Theatre for the shoot, apparently advertised "Rock Revenge Fest Featuring Ozzy Osbourne" and promised a "12-hour marathon of metal."

Billboard also reports that a casting call was made in late July for "metalhead-looking extras" to “play the audience at a heavy metal concert.” Feig, who has been active on social media in posting teasers for the film, has yet to mention Osbourne specifically.

If Osbourne joins the cast, he'll arrive as a savvy Hollywood veteran. He previously appeared as himself in the Adam Sandler movie Little Nicky from 2000, and did voice work on 2001's Moulin Rouge! and 2011's Gnomeo & Juliet, among others. Besides his own long-running reality TV series, Osbourne also appeared on CSI along with the rest of Black Sabbath, when the band promoted its reunion album,13, a couple years ago.

Ghostbusters will star Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones, and is set to open on Aug. 15, 2016.
