NWS: Severe Thunderstorm Watch Posted for Multiple Wyoming Counties

UPDATE 9:10 p.m. Tuesday - The National Weather Service has lifted its severe thunderstorm watch for multiple eastern and southeastern Wyoming counties.

A flash flood warning, however, remains in effect for southern Goshen County until 11 p.m.

UPDATE 3:36 p.m. Tuesday – The severe thunderstorm warning for central Converse County has been cancelled.

A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect through 9 p.m. for multiple eastern and southeastern Wyoming counties along and near the Interstate 25 corridor south of Casper. Counties listed in the watch include: Albany, Converse, Goshen, Laramie, Niobrara and Platte.

UPDATE 3:20 p.m. TuesdayThe severe thunderstorm warning for west-central Goshen County and east-central Platte County has expired, meteorologists with the National Weather Service say.

Despite the expiration of the warning, NWS says individuals in the area can continue to expect penny-sized hail.

The severe thunderstorm warning for central Converse County near Douglas remains in effect through 3:45 p.m. The thunderstorm is moving east at 15 mph.

UPDATE 2:58 p.m. Tuesday – A severe thunderstorm warning has been posted for central Converse County. The storm is expected to bring quarter-sized hail.

The National Weather Service says the warning should expire by 3:45 p.m. Tuesday.

ORIGINAL STORYThe National Weather Service has posted a severe thunderstorm watch for several central and eastern Wyoming counties near and along the Interstate 25 corridor through Tuesday night.

Counties listed in the watch include: Albany, Converse, Goshen, Laramie, Niobrara and Platte. The watch will remain in effect through 9 p.m.

NWS meteorologists also on Tuesday posted a severe thunderstorm warning for west-central Goshen County and east-central Platte County. Meteorologists say quarter-sized hail can be expected with the storm.

The warning is set to expire at 3:15 p.m.
