New Casper Book Gets Nationwide Launch At Fort Caspar Museum

Fort Caspar Museum is proud to announce it will be the location for the nationwide launch of “Casper,” the newest book in Arcadia Publishing’s popular Images of America series.  Join authors Con Trumbull and Kem Nicolaysen—cousins and great-great-grandsons of Wyoming’s BB Brooks—for a book signing at Fort Caspar Museum on Saturday, April 20th from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.  Admission to the Museum will be free during the signing, and refreshments will be served.  Later, the authors will be at Wind City Books from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.

Books in the Images of America series chronicle the history of small towns across the country in a unique pictorial format that details small slices of hometown history and highlights often forgotten aspects of American life. With more than two hundred vintage images per publication, each title in the series celebrates a town or region, bringing to life the people, places, and events that define the community.  For “Casper,” Trumbull and Nicolaysen selected seldom seen photographs gleaned from the collections of Fort Caspar Museum, Casper College Western History Center, members of the Natrona County Historical Society, and their own family albums.

The two authors are generously donating the proceeds from all sales to the Fort Caspar Museum Association (FCMA) and the Natrona County Historical Society.  The FCMA is Fort Caspar Museum’s nonprofit friends group which provides financial and volunteer support for programming at the Museum.  “Casper” will retail for $21.99.  Consider becoming a member of the FCMA while you are at the book signing and enjoy one of the perks of membership: 15% off “Casper” (as well as all merchandise) in the Museum’s gift shop.

On Saturday, May 18th, “Creating ‘Casper’” will be the topic of the FCMA’s Spring Lunch and Learn program.  The lecture will begin at 1:00 pm, following an optional lunch at noon.  Call the Museum (235-8462) or visit our website for more details and reservation information.
