In support of his latest record, ‘A Letter Home,’ Neil Young, along with former White Stripes/Raconteurs guitarist Jack White, is going to do what has never been done before. The duo are cut a vinyl record, live on 'The Tonight Show.'

The show’s host, Jimmy Fallon, let slip the news of the project through his Twitter account. “Making history tonight - Neil Young is going to perform and press a vinyl with the help of Jack White live on the show. One take. Fun.”

For White, tonight’s venture echoes a recent challenge he undertook on Record Store Day in April to record the world’s fastest vinyl record. He ultimately proved successful in his goal producing a brand new 7” single just 3 hours, 55 minutes and 21 seconds after recording it.

A Deluxe Edition of Young’s latest record, 'A Letter Home,' is due out on May 27 on White’s Third Man record label. The whole thing was recorded in a 1947 Voice-o-Graph recording booth and features a number of covers from artists like Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan.
