Jonathan Cain and Neal Schon are about to make a Journey to Arizona.

The longtime musical partners, who have held down, respectively, the keyboard and guitar spots in Journey for decades, are scheduled to travel to Tempe on Sept. 28, where they'll perform the national anthem before Arizona State University's football game against USC. According to a press release announcing the performance, Cain and Schon will play 15 minutes before kickoff, which is set for 7:30 P.M.

They'll be part of the second annual "Maroon Monsoon" game, which also serves as the Sun Devils' first home conference game of the season, at which "fans are encouraged to once again wear maroon and help get the word out via social media using the hashtag #MaroonMonsoon." Tickets are on sale now.

Cain and Schon's performance comes during a relatively quiet year for Journey. While last year brought the well-received documentary 'Don't Stop Believin': Everyman's Journey,' which chronicled the story of how singer Arnel Pinada came to join the band, 2013 found the guys sticking with a regular round of tour dates -- and shrugging off the idea of recording new music.

Which isn't to say they've been avoiding the studio: Schon is one of the many guest stars making an appearance on Sammy Hagar's new record, 'Sammy Hagar & Friends.'
