The Natrona County Fire District is warning everyone to be exceedingly careful as we enter the fire season. This message was posted on the district Facebook page...

"NCFD has responded to 4 smoke investigations in the last 24 hours. Current fires in Colorado, Wyoming and the southwest have caused drift smoke and haze to start making it's way into Natrona County. With increased temperatures and drier conditions, NCFD would like to remind citizens to pay attention this summer when operating heavy machinery, discarding cigarettes, campfires as well as any other sources that could cause a fire.

We are currently under a red flag warning here in Casper. Until that warning is lifted there should not be any outdoor burning even in approved recreational outdoor burning areas."

There are several large wildfires burning across the west, including the Beaver Creek fire at the Wyoming-Colorado border. It's that time of year again.
