National Emergency Alert System Will Be Tested Today

Within a few hours, broadcasters all over the country will have an answer to the question some emergency planners have been wondering about for years. If the White House activates the “national emergency network” (EAN) code that’s part of the Emergency Alert System (EAS), will the message actually reach stations from coast to coast?

Townsquare Media will be participating in this national test of the EAS today at noon.

At noon, all of the Townsquare Media radio stations – My Country 95.5, 104.7 KISS FM, Rock 96.7, 107.9 The River, 1030 AM K2 Radio and 1400 ESPN Radio – will all sound the national EAS signal.

The National EAS Test will last between 30 and 60 seconds.
